Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren spoke to the media this week. Among the topics of discussion was the status of defenseman Chris Pronger. Holmgren told the Flyers' official website that Pronger was still struggling to recover from a particularly severe bout of post-concussion syndrome.

"I saw him this morning. He continues to have some good days and then some bad days. So I don't know if that's any update. He struggles."

Pronger caught a puck in his head eight games into the season. He played five more before the injury forced him out of the lineup. As for whether or not Pronger could return for a 19th NHL season, Holmgren was uncertain.

"I think it's too soon. We're still holding out hope that he can, that he starts to get better [and] turns a corner in that regard, and I would say right now there haven't been any signs that show us that that's in the near future. But, we'll see how it goes the rest of the summer."
