NHL Free Agency Rumors: Flyers Interested In P.J. Axelsson?

The Philadelphia Flyers lost one veteran winger this offseason when Jaromir Jagr signed with the Dallas Stars. Could The Flyers be seeking the services of another longtime NHL player in P.J. Axelsson?

Axelsson, a 37-year-old left winger, spent his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins (1997-2009) but is pondering his options in ending his pro career back in the U.S. after spending the last three seasons in his native Sweden. The Flyers are one of two teams with reported interest in Axelsson.

The defensive forward had 103 goals, 184 assists and 276 penalty minutes in his 797-game NHL career. Last season with Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elite League, Axelsson had two goals, 12 assists and 22 penalty minutes in 52 games.
