Fans of the Phillies and Yankees were hoping to see a rematch of last seasons world series this year. You know who else was hoping for that too? TV executives. Advertisers... But that's not how sports works and sometimes the best teams aren't the biggest teams. That's certainly the case this year as the Fall Classic features two teams without a whole lot of star power or national appeal. They actually are from decently sized TV markets, but that doesn't appear to be enough to have captured the attention of the nation.

MLB has another problem too, if this series does go to five games they'll find themselves head to head with Sunday Football which has crushed the rest of the baseball playoffs in ratings for the past month.
