Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter Thinks The Phillies Should Be In Primetime

The Phillies opened their playoff campaign playing at 5:07 p.m. The Yankees played at 8 p.m. Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter took this as a slight against the Phils.

"The Philadelphia Phillies have the best record in major league baseball," Nutter said. "It seems to me they should be in prime time."

Look, one of things we need to just accept is that New York is the biggest and therefore most important market to a TV network. When the Yankees play, they're going to play in prime time. It's as simple as that.

Plus, can I say that I really enjoyed the 5 p.m. start time? For me, it was great to watch the game and still have the whole night. Tonight's 6 p.m. start time seems even better.
