A few years ago, front-office man, Ed Wade, was not longer wanted in Philadelphia. Well, that all changed Tuesday, as the former general manager of the Phillies and Houston Astros has been hired as Philly's Special Consultant to their baseball operations office.
↵According to the Houston Chronicle:
↵↵↵"He will be a professional scout, both at the major league and minor league levels seeing clubs within and outside the system, and assist in arbitration."
↵
During the offseason, Houston let go Wade who had been the Astros general manager for five season and responsible for shipping many former All-Star Astros players -- such as: closer Brad Lidge, starting pitcher Roy Oswalt and outfielder Hunter Pence -- to Philadelphia.
↵↵↵"I’m prepared for the remarks that I only traded with the Phillies so Ruben would give me a job if I got fired."
