The Phillies have been down in Clearwater for about a week now, but spring training truly begins this as the 2011 squad finally takes the field for the first time since October. The Phillies open spring training play this Thursday at 1:05 against Florida State. Then, they get a day off before three games in three days including two against the Yankees and against Roy Halladay's old team, the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Phils will then play 15 straight days to open March largely against AL East teams, but with some games against Pittsburgh and Detroit sprinkled in there as well. They'll only have one day off in March, so we'll certainly have our fill of spring training ball by the time the team comes back to Philly on March 29 for two warmup games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
