Phillies Complete Sweep Of Nationals With 7-3 Win

As has been the case all series, Raul Ibanez and dominant pitching did the job as the Phillies completed a three game sweep of the Washington Nationals. Raul, who had went ten straight games without a hit going 0-for-35 over the span, but capped off a ridiculous series with a three hit, three RBI performance including a big solo HR in the fifth.

Ibanez went 8-12 in the series with five extra base hits. He had went 10 games without a hit before this series, but finished 8-of-12 with two home runs and six runs batted in these three games in against the Nationals.

Roy Halladay went seven innings, striking out 10 while allowing just two runs. His fifth win ties him for the league lead. It was his 13 straight win against NL East competition.

Nationals starter Jon Lannan dropped his 10th straight decision to the Phils. He got into trouble early and allowed a 6 spot in the bottom of the third thanks to a HR from Shane Victorino and doubles from John Mayberry and Raul Ibanez.
