Phillies Sign Ninth Round Draft Pick, Catcher Logan Moore

Less than a week has gone by since the end of the MLB draft and the Phillies have already agreed to terms with their 9th round pick, catcher Logan Moore. Moore had played two years at Northeastern Junior college, but was obviously ready to go pro. Part of his contract stipulates that the Phillies will pay for the remainder of his education provided he starts within two years of his baseball career ending.

Moore had a scholarship offer from Tennessee, but when he saw his name come up on the screen during the draft, he knew what his next step was.

"I really haven’t let it all sink in yet," Moore said Thursday. "It hasn’t really hit me. It probably will when I get on the plane and am leaving.

"Draft day was pretty exciting. I didn’t expect (to be drafted) so soon, and to see my name on the screen was great."
