The Phillies will look to build on their four game winning streak today as they host the Marlins in a day night doubleheader at Citizens’ Bank Park. In game one, Kyle Kendrick will face off with Elih Villanueva, making his major league debut. Tonight, Roy Hallladay takes on Anibal Sanchez.
Kendrick’s last start was cut short by rain after three scoreless innings. In his previous outing however, he was touched for four runs in five innings against the Pirates. He’s got a 5-2 career record against the Marlins.
This evening, Roy Halladay will look for his MLB leading 10th win as he takes on Anibal Sanchez, who has been one of the lone bright spots for the struggling Marlins. He’s won his past six decisions, however he’s 1-5 with a 7.85 ERA in eight career starts in Philadelphia.
Halladay was a hard luck loser in his last start against the Marlins losing 2-1 after throwing eight strong innings and allowed just one earned run. Lifetime against the Marlins he’s 4-3 with a 2.13 ERA in eight career starts.
