Phillies Win 100th Game, Defeat Braves 4-2

The Phillies won their 100th game of the season for just the third time in franchise history with a 4-2 win over the Braves in Atlanta.

The Phillies won their 100th game of the season for just the third time in franchise history with a 4-2 win over the Braves in Atlanta. The win also added to the Braves already considering miseries as Atlanta has lost three straight, seven of 10 and have seen their lead in the wildcard shrink to just a half game. Should the Cardinals come back to beat the Astros tonight, the lead will be gone.

Cliff Lee earned his 17th win of the season, throwing 6 innings of 2-run ball and striking out 6. He finishes the season with an 2.40 ERA. Raul Ibanez had two RBI and Shane Victorino had a pair of hits and runs as the Phillies have started to wake from their post clinch slumber in preparation for playoff baseball.

The Braves however, are in the midst of a stunning choke. Three weeks ago it appeared they had the wildcard all but locked up with an 8.5 game lead. However, they've gone just 9-16 in September and seen the lead shrink to now just a half game.
