Phillies Vs Marlins: Joe Blanton Takes The Hill For Rubber Game

Joe Blanton will make his return to the mound as a starter for the Philadelphia Phillies in Thursday's rubber match with the Miami Marlins, a night after Roy Halladay shut down Miami to earn his second win of the young season.

Blanton has made just one appearance thus far this season, lasting just a third of an inning in a relief showing against Pittsburgh back on April 7 in which he allowed two runs and took the loss.

He's hopeful for a bounce back outing, and for another offensive performance like Philadlphia posted last night. The team had scored just eight runs in its first four games, but busted out for seven last night in Halladay's dominance.

The Marlins will once again be managed by Joey Cora, who is filling in for five games while Ozzie Guillen serves his suspension after controversial remarks expressing reverence towards Cuban political power Fidel Castrol.

Mark Buehrle will start for Miami.

Game Time: 7:05 p.m. EST
