A day after falling to the San Francisco Giants in a tremendous pitching matchup, the Philadelphia Phillies will travel down the California Coast to begin a series agains the San Diego Padres.

Like Philadelphia, San Diego is off to a slow start this season, having dropped 10 of 13 games in the early goings and falling to last place in the NL West.

The series will begin with a matchup between Vance Worley and Joe Wieland, each of whom is in search of his first victory of the season.

The 24-year old Worley has gone six innings in each of his starts, but his offense has afforded him a total of just four runs in those outings. The Philadelphia offense has been slow-starting this year, something that the Padres have become used to in recent down years at the plate.

Heavy rain is in the forecast for tonight's opener, and that could effect the start time for this one. For now, the first pitch is set to be throw at 10:05 p.m. EST, and can be seen on CSN.
