The Philadelphia Phillies continue their Western road trip Saturday night against the San Diego Padres. (Game Time: 8:35 p.m., TV Schedule: PHL 17)
Philadelphia has taken the first two legs of the four-game series after beating the Padres 4-1 on Friday. Cole Hamels threw six innings of four-hit ball on Friday, allowing one run to push his record at Petco Park to a perfect 4-0. The Phillies plated three runs in the seventh inning when Brian Schneider and Juan Pierre hit a pair of bases-loaded singles.
The Padres have scored just one run combined in the two series-opening games, and their path shouldn't get any easier on Saturday with Roy Halladay taking the hill for Philadelphia. Halladay is 3-0 with a 1.17 ERA after his first three starts.
Cory Luebke (1-1, 3.71 ERA), Halladay's counterpart, threw seven innings and allowed just one run during a 7-1 against the Colorado Rockies on Monday.
