Jonny Venters thew a wild pitch in the top of the eighth, allowing John Mayberry Jr. to score as the Phillies beat the Braves 4-2 at Turner Field. It marked the Phils 8th straight win over the Braves.

The Phils have shown some signs of consistency in the past couple weeks winning of 5 of their 7 games. Hunter Pence seems to be coming out of his early season slump with another RBI tonight.

The damage came in the 8th when Mayberry got on base with a one out double and advanced to 3rd as Jimmy Rollins singled. Venters then struck out Placido Polanco, but Braves catcher Brian McCann let the pitch get by him and Mayberry scored the go ahead run. Hunter Pence would later knock home Rollins to make it 4-3.

Jonathan Papelbon picked up his 9th save of the season with a perfect 9th. Cole Hamels started the game and threw six innings, fanning 6 and giving up 2 runs.
