The Philadelphia Phillies look like a team finally intent on making some progress in the standings.
Philly will take on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Wednesday night to keep off a mini two game series.
The Phillies are coming in hot, winners of three straight including a two-game sweep of the Houston Astros at home.
Philadelphia desperately needs to take advantage of playing the weaker teams in the National League, after starting off so slow in April and the first week of May.
Kyle Kendrick will carry the Phillies hopes to the mound tonight. He's been nothing short of brutal this season with an 0-3 record and a 7.32 ERA. Kendrick needs to step up and make a stand with his team aiming to get back to the even water mark.
Matt Garza opposes him for the Cubs. The ex-Tampa Bay star is only 2-1 but has an excellent 2.56 ERA. In his start on April 29th against Philly, Garza pitched seven innings, struck out 10 and only gave up one hit in a win.
The Phillies will need to do better with Chicago likely to put up a few runs on Kendrick.
