Phillies Vs. Cubs Final Score: Hector Luna Pinch Hit Grand Slam Wraps Up 9-2 Philadelphia Win

The Philadelphia Phillies clubbed their way back up the NL East standings on Wednesday night with a power-fueled outburst against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. A six-run ninth inning capped off a 9-2 for the Phillies, their fourth straight victory.

Carlos Ruiz broke a 2-2 tie with a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning. Antonio Bastardo retired the side to preserve the slim lead in the bottom of the inning before the Philly bats added a whole bunch of insurance in the ninth. Ty Wiggington singled in a run, and Hector Luna hit a pinch hit grand slam to ice the Cubs.

Kyle Kendrick allowed two runs on a fourth inning home run to Alfonso Soriano. He drove in Bryan LaHair who reached second on an error by Juan Pierre.

The two teams are back in action on Thursday night, concluding their two-game series before starting interleague play.
