The Phillies downed the Cardinals 5-3 in extra innings Friday night for their third straight win. Cliff Lee was denied his first win, leaving after seven innings with the score tied at 3-3, but Hunter Pence hit a 10th-inning home run for the winning tally.
Kendrick will be opposed by Jamie Garcia, who has dominated the Phillies in four career starts against them, going 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA.
