Phillies Vs. Cardinals: Kyle Kendrick Throws Complete Game Shutout As Philadelphia Wins 4-0

Kyle Kendrick pictched a complete game shutout for the Philadelphia Phillies as they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 Saturday night. Kendrick gave up seven hits but no runs, striking out four and walking none as he threw 94 pitches, 70 for strikes.

Philadelphia's offense struck in the fourth, when Hunter Pence led off with a single and scored on a double from Shane Victorino. They added three in the sixth when John Mayberry Jr. picked up two RBI on a double and Freddy Galvis got one on a ground out to shortstop. That was all the offense would get, but it was more than they needed behind Kendrick's performance.

With the win Philadelphia has taken the first three games of the series. They face St. Louis in the final game of the series tomorrow at 2:15pm EDT.
