A night after earning a much needed victory over NL East Division rivals the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies will try to earn another road victory in Game 2 of a four-game set at Citi Field. Joe Blanton (4-4) takes the mound for the Phils' as he opposes rookie Jeremy Hefner (0-2) starting at 7:10 p.m. ET on PHL 17.
Blanton is coming off a terrible start on Thursday which featured him lasting just 4 1/3 innings allowing seven runs on 10 hits. The effort followed up a May 19 outing against the Boston Red Sox which showcased Blanton giving up four home runs.
Meanwhile, Hefnery was torched in his last outing by the San Diego Padres for six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.
On Monday, Philly took Game 1 thanks to Ty Ty Wigginton's six RBI night and a strong eight-inning effort by Cole Hamels. The Phillies (26-24) are looking for their sixth victory in seven games.
