Joe Blanton will take the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies in the rubber match of their series against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday afternoon, and he'll square off against Randall Delgado.
Offense has been an issue for Philadelphia throughout much of the season, but the team knocked in 13 runs last night, including seven off of the bat of catcher Carlos Ruiz. Although the effort proved futile in what turned out to be a 15-13 loss, it's a good sign that the bats may soon be back on track for the Phillies.
Blanton has been strong as a starter this year, pitching at least six innings and allowing no more than three runs in three of his four outings.
Game Time: 12:10 p.m. EST
