Fresh off a 2-1 series win over the Atlanta Braves, the Philadelphia Phillies will travel to Washington to begin a series with the NL East-leading Washington Nationals.

At 16-9, the Nationals own a 3.5 game lead over the fourth place Phillies and have won two straight games. The Phillies will be up against a good pitcher in each of the three games this weekend, as the Nats have their one, two and three starters lined up. Stephen Strasburg will oppose Kyle Kendrick on Friday, followed by Gio Gonzalez versus Vance Worley, and concluded with Jordan Zimmerman versus Cole Hamels.

This weekend's set represents the first time these two teams have met in the 2012 season. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
