Chase Utley might not be far away from making his season debut for the Philadelphia Phillies. On Saturday he will play second base on back-to-back days for the first time this season.
Chase Utley will play second base at CLW tonight. First time he's played consecutive days on defense. Big step. Won't be long till in Phila— Jim Salisbury (@JSalisburyCSN) June 23, 2012
Utley, who is about to play his ninth game on his rehab assignment, has not yet found his stroke at the plate. In 29 at-bats, he has just five hits. However, he stole a base in his last game, showing that he is feeling more comfortable on his knee.
The Phillies have been playing Michael Martinez at second base.
