Phillies Vs. Rays, Game 3 Final Score: Philadelphia Drops 2nd Leg Of Doubleheader, 7-3

The Philadelphia Phillies dropped the second leg of Sunday's doubleheader against the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-3, on Sunday night at Citizens Bank Park. Cliff Lee (0-4) remains winless despite striking out nine. He allowed five runs, all earned, off six hits and three walks in seven innings.

The Rays jumped to a 3-0 lead in the second inning after Lee gave up back-to-back doubles to Sean Rodriguez and Brooks Conrad. The Phillies took back two runs in the fourth. Placido Polanco doubled to deep center, scoring Hunter Pence. On the next at-bat, John Mayberry Jr. scored Polanco on a single to center.

Conrad expanded the Phillies lead back to three in the sixth inning with a two-run double. Polanco picked up his second RBI on the night in the bottom of the inning with a double to score Pence, capping the Phillies' scoring.

B.J. Rosenberg relieved Lee in the eighth inning, but lasted just two outs. He walked five of the seven batters he faced to put the Rays up 7-3. Brandon Gomes (2-2) earned the win after giving up no runs and one hit with a walk and a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.

The Phillies will remain at home when they begin their four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Joe Blanton (6-6, 5.04 ERA) will take on the Pirates' Jeff Karstens (0-1, 4.50) at the mound.
