Phillies (36-40) Vs. Pirates (38-35): Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to make it three in a row against their interstate rivals, the Pittsburgh Pirates, on Wednesday evening. The Phillies have already assured themselves a split of this four game series, but will try to move closer towards a sweep with another victory.

Of course, the big news today is the season debut of Chase Utley. After missing the first 76 games with tendinitis in his right knee, Utley is coming back carrying the hopes of Philadelphia fans everywhere for an improved offense.

Due to the rainout last Friday, Raul Valdes is making his first start of the season for the Phillies after having plenty of success in the bullpen. Valdes is 2-0 on the year with a sterling ERA of 1.84.

Opposing him with be James McDonald for the Pirates. McDonald has quietly been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2012. He's coming into Wednesday's tilt with a 6-3 record but an incredible 2.19 ERA. In his last start, McDonald was brilliant, scattering six hits over a complete game victory against the Minnesota Twins.

Philadelphia will have to find a way to get the bats going against such a quality pitcher. Having Mr. Utley in the lineup certainly won't hurt.

TV: CSN

Time: 7:05 p.m. ET
