Phillies Vs. Dodgers, Game 2 Final Score: Cliff Lee Fans 12, But Philadelphia Loses 2-1

Cliff Lee (0-3) struck out 12 in 7 2/3 innings of work, but Philadelphia simply couldn't find any offense in a 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of their four-game series at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night. Lee still has yet to earn his first win of the season despite a 2.92 ERA.

Lee had a shutout going until the eighth inning. With two outs and Bobby Abreu and Tony Gwynn on base, Elian Herrera hit a two-RBI double to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead on their first runs of the night. Lee retired 10 straight batters from the second to the fifth inning. His arm tired late, however. Four of the six hits he gave up came in the eighth.

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead off a Hunter Pence single to left to score Jimmy Rollins. Otherwise, they didn't have much success against Dodgers' starter Chad Billingsley (3-4). Billingsley gave up six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven innings. Kenley Jansen earned his eighth save of the season.

Game 3 of the series is set for Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. ET. Kyle Kendrick (2-4, 4.02 ERA) will try to stem the Phillies' four-game losing streak against the Dodgers' Chris Capuano (7-2, 2.50) at the mound.
