Phillies At Rockies Preview: Philly Looks For First Series Win In Month Of July

Losing has become the norm for the Philadelphia Phillies recently. And for the first time in awhile that trend could be turned around, as the Phils will have a chance on Sunday (3:10 p.m. ET on PHL 17) to collect their first series win since late June. Cole Hamels (10-4) will take the mound for Philadelphia as he opposes Colorado Rockies rookie pitcher Drew Pomeranz (1-3).

The Phillies (38-51) are hoping to get another solid offensive effort, which came Saturday and helped lead Philly to a 8-5 victory that ended a five-game losing streak. Currently, the Phillies have lost 12 of their last 14 game and are sitting in the basement of the NL East Division standings.

Hamels, who is pitching amidst trade rumors, will be making his first start since the All-Star break, which featured him pitching the All-Star Game.

Meanwhile, Pomeranz has allowed just one unearned run in his last two starts. Pomeranz was one of the big pieces in last year's trade with the Cleveland Indians, who acquired pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez.
