Ryan Howard will return to the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday and is expected to be activated for the series opener against the Atlanta Braves once he is approved by a team doctor. The first baseman announced the news from his Twitter account.
Excited to be back in Philly tomorrow.

Howard has missed the entire 2012 season so far after rupturing Achilles tendon last season. He has been on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, going 8-for-17 with a home run, a double, three walks and three strikeouts.
After his final game of rehab with Lehigh Valley, Howard said that he felt he was ready to return.
"I'm Major League ready," Howard said. "I've been there already, but being back up there to play -- I feel like it's pretty close."
