It's tough to follow up on a complete-game shutout by a teammate, but that's what Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick will try to do Tuesday when he opposes Miami Marlins' ace Josh Johnson at Marlins Park (7:10 p.m. ET on Comcast SportsNet).
Kendrick (4-9) will be trying to help the Phillies (53-62) cement a series victory a night after ace Cole Hamels shutout the Marlins (52-64), who collected just seven hits and struck out five times against the lefty. Kendrick is also trying to bounce back from a tough outing -- 3 1/2 innings pitched, six runs allowed on seven hits -- against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Johnson (7-8) is 2-1 with a 1.75 ERA in his last four starts.
