The Atlanta Braves come into Citizens Bank Park looking to inch closer to the NL East lead, while the Philadelphia Phillies are trying to play the down and dirty role of spoiler.
Atlanta has been one of the more consistent teams in baseball with a 62-46 record, including a 30-20 mark on the road. Much of the Braves success can be attributed to their potent lineup, which ranks third in the NL in runs scored.
Vance Worley will be charged with the task of shutting them down on Monday. The right-hander has pitched solidly this season, posting a 3.63 ERA and a 6-6 record. Worley hasn't been overpowering, but steadily effective on the mound.
He'll be opposed by Ben Sheets, who's making another comeback at the age of 34. Sheets already pitched once against Philadelphia this campaign. He earned one of his three wins on the year by throwing six innings and allowing just one run on six hits. Overall, Sheets is 3-1 with a 1.42 ERA.
The Phillies will try to build off some momentum after beating the Arizona Diamondbacks twice to finish off the weekend.
