Phillies-Braves Final Score: Atlanta Topples The Phillies 6-1

On Monday night, it was another evening of disappointment in the city of brotherly love.

In the opener of the three-game set between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, the Braves took care of business by the count of 6-1.

Ben Sheets was sublime on the hill, going 7.1 innings while allowing just a single run on seven hits and a walk. In an oddity, Sheets struck out the same amount of batters as you and I; zero.

Vance Worley took the loss, surrendering four earned runs in just 3.2 frames of work. Worley gave up six hits and three walks while striking out just two batters.

The only Phillies run of the game came off the bat of John Mayberry Jr., who blasted his ninth home run of the season in the home half of the fourth.

Jason Heyward went deep in the ninth for Atlanta as part of his two-hit night, while Dan Uggla and Freddie Freeman also had multi-hit games.
