Philadelphia Phillies Announce 2013 Schedule

The Philadelphia Phillies' 2013 schedule was released by Major League Baseball Wednesday, and the Phillies got a bit of a surprise concerning its home opener, April 5, as it will feature the Kansas City Royals of the American League. The interleague series comes after Philadelphia opens the year with a three-game set at the Atlanta Braves, April 1-4.

The Phillies interleague opponents consists of the Royals, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers. Meanwhile, Philadelphia's most daunting road trip will be played June 24-July 4 when in a 10-game span they will play at the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Phillies will end its season on the road, playing a three-game series in Miami and a four-game series in Atlanta.
