Philadelphia Union 2012 Home Opener Announced

The Philadelphia Union will play their home opener on Sunday, March 18, the team announced Tuesday. The opponent has yet to be determined, but will be revealed when the league releases its full schedule at some point in the coming weeks.

The Union are currently selling Home Opener Holiday Packs, a package consisting of four tickets and one Union scarf. Anybody who buys a Home Opener Holiday Pack before Dec. 16 will receive the scarf and a voucher for the tickets in time for the holidays.

Philadelphia will be looking to continue momentum from last season. The Union made the playoffs in 2011 one year after missing the postseason in the team's inaugural campaign, but bowed to the Houston Dynamo in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Union were ousted from their two-game, aggregate total playoff series after being outscored by Houston 3-1 in two consecutive losses.
