Philadelphia Union Preseason: Four Players Selected From Tuesday's Supplemental Draft

The Philadelphia Union picked up four new players in the MLS Supplemental Draft on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Union picked up four young newcomers from Tuesday's MLS Supplemental Draft, adding defender Thomas Brandt, midfielder Krystian Witkowski, forward Antoine Hoppenot, and midfielder Brandon Zimmerman to the squad. The Union added striker Chandler Hoffman, midfielder Greg Jordan and defender Raymon Gaddis during the 2012 SuperDraft last Thursday.

Brandt was a two-time captain at the University of Pennsylvania, earning All-Ivy honors after scoring five goals in both of his final two seasons. Witkowski was a member of the U-18 Polish National team before going off to Marist College, where he notched 21 goals in 71 matches, including nine goals and six assists during his junior season. Hoppenot was a finalist for the Hermann Trophy his junior season, scoring nine goals and five assists for Princeton University. Zimmerman was a four-time All-WCC midfielder for UC Santa Clara, earning first-team honors his senior year.

The Union will begin preseason camp on Jan. 25. They will play an exhibition match against Orlando City on Feb. 18 in the Florida Citrus Orange Bowl.
