The Philadelphia Union will have a large presence on the U.S. Under-23 National Team with five selections out of the 22-man roster. The Union also make up five of the 11 selections from MLS.
Freddy Adu, Zac MacMath, Jack McInerney, Amobi Okugo and Sheanon Williams from the Union were called up by U-23 National Team coach Caleb Porter (via Philadelphia Union).
Camp begins today at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles. The team will train for 11 days in L.A. before traveling to Costa Rica where they will play friendlies against local teams.
The U-23 team is preparing for the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament on March 22-26 at LP Field in Nashville. The U.S. is in Group A with Canada, Cuba and El Salvador. The top two finalists in the tournament will qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
