Union Vs Fire: Philadelphia Loses 1-0, Still Winless On The Year

Dominic Oduro scored the long goal as the Chicago Fire blanked the Philadelphia Union 1-0 at Toyota Park. The loss drops the Union to 0-3 on the season.

The Union were missing three players thanks to Olympic qualifying and captain Danny Califf, who was out with an injury (maybe?). Still, many of the same issues were on display as in the first game. The Fire controlled the midfield and enjoyed most of the chances.

On the positive side, there were no goals thanks to terrible blunders on the part of rookie goalkeeper Zac MacMath!

The Union would put on the pressure in the final 10 minutes and Chicago goalie Paolo Tornaghi had to make two big saves off late Gabriel Gomez free kicks. But in the end, the visitors struggled to finish as they have all season.

The Union will try to get off the snide next Saturday as they welcome the Vancouver Whitecaps to PPL Park.
