2012 MLS All-Star Game: PPL Park To Reportedly Host MLS All-Stars Vs. Chelsea

The 2012 MLS All-Star opponent may finally be known. It appears that English Premier League side Chelsea will be making their second appearance against the MLS All-Stars on July 25, according to a report (Fox Soccer).

The MLS All-Stars defeated Chelsea, 1-0, at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois, in 2006. The All-Star game at PPL Park will be just one match Chelsea will be playing during their American tour. The official announcement from MLS is expected to occur on Wednesday at PPL Park. Chelsea has been rumored to be the MLS opponent for some time now. Our Philadelphia Union blog, Brotherly Game, had sources tell them that Chelsea would be the opponent back on March 31.

The MLS All-Star voting process is a mixture of votes from fans, media writers, and MLS managers. MLS is 5-3 against international opponents during the All-Star game. The MLS All-Stars lost to EPL team Manchester United during the past two seasons.
