With eight games remaining in the MLS regular season, the Philadelphia Union's playoff chances are slim to none. After earning a 1-1 draw against Toronto FC this weekend, the Union remain in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia is 17 points behind D.C. United, who currently holds the fifth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Facing the worst team in the MLS this season, the Union had a good chance to pick up three points against Toronto FC, but needed a late goal to even come away with a draw.
With a win, Philadelphia would have jumped the New England Revolution for eighth place in the East. The Union's 27 points put them in 18th place out of 19 MLS teams although Philadelphia's 1.04 points per game is tied 15th overall.
The Union will have a chance to move up the standings this week when they host D.C. United on Thursday.
