Tonight’s win came at a cost as Jimmy Rollins pulled up after a 6th inning hit with a re-injured right calf.

Rollins was playing his fifth game and batted leadoff for the first time since coming back from the disabled list. He took six steps out of the box after hitting a single, jogged slowly to first and immediately came out after touching the bag.

“It’s a big win, but we definitely didn’t want to lose J-Roll,” Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. “We need him playing.”

His previous calf injury cost the Phils’ leadoff man a month. Rollins is currently listed as “day to day.”

Victor Martinez hit a first-inning homer to account for all the offense for the Red Sox, whose three-game win streak was halted.

"They make every pitcher work," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said of the team he formerly managed. "They have guys willing to go deep in the count."

Hamels did not allow a hit from Darnell McDonald's leadoff single in the third until Adrian Beltre's two-out ground-rule double in the seventh.
