Scott Hartnell scored twice and rookie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 to win their fourth straight game. The Flyers struck first from Hartnell as he knocked in the rebound of a Jeff Carter shot.

Carolina would respond in the second Patrick Dwyer, the NHL's youngest player, capitalized on a turnover by James VanReimsdyk and flicked a wrister by Bobrovsky. Claude Giroux would give the Flyers the lead back on a power play feed from Mike Richards. Scott Hartnell would give the Flyers lead for good in the third when he put a Kimmo Timonen pass by Carolina goalie Justin Peters.

The Hurricanes would make it a bit uncomfortable scoring with just :27 left in the game, but the Flyers hung on for their fourth straight win. Next up the Flyers host the rival New York Rangers for the first time this season.

The Flyers welcome the Carolina Hurricanes into Philadelphia tonight as they try for a season best four straight wins. The boys in orange have beat the Sabres, Penguins & Islanders over this streak scoring fifteen goals in the process. They've given up just six goals over that period with rookie Sergei Bobrovksy in net.

Things haven't been going quite as well for Carolina, who have lost three of its last five and been shut out in two of its last three contests. It's also given up at least three goals in each of its last five games. Many of Carolina's problems this season can be traced back to its anemic power play, which is just 6 of 47 on the year. That's less than 13% and in the bottom eight of the league. The Flyers penalty kill, by comparison, is seventh best in the NHL.

The Flyers have fared quite well against Hurricanes in recent years having one six straight games between the two, including three straight in Philadelphia.
