The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 at the Bell Centre. It was their seventh straight victory, marking the first time the team has won seven straight since January of 2002.

The Habs fought back from three one goal deficits, but it was a third period one timer blast from the point off the stick of Andrej Meszaros that proved to be a game winner. Jaromir Jagr found Meszaros standing alone near the blue line and he flat out beat Carey price to the stick side for his third goal of the season.

Max Talbot, rookie Harry Zolnierczyk and Wayne Simmonds also tallied for the Flyers, who maintain their overall lead in the Eastern Conference with 43 points.

The win came on a somewhat somber day for the Flyers who found out that they would be without their captain, Chris Pronger, for the remainder of the regular season and post season with severe post concussion syndrome.

The Flyers are back in action Saturday afternoon as they welcome the reigning Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins to the Wells Fargo Center.
