<p>The Penn Quakers defeated the Marist Red Foxes by a score of 84-71 on Friday night in The Palestra to move to 6-6 on the season. Marist falls to 5-7 with the loss. The Quakers, who led at halftime by two points, pulled away throughout the second half.</p>
<p>They were led by senior guard Tyler Bernardini's 30 points which included eight three-pointers. He finished the game with a 63 percent field goal percentage, making 10 of 16 shots. After Bernardini, the Quakers were led by senior guard Zach Rosen and freshman forward Henry Brooks' 13 points.</p>
<p>The Red Foxes were led by junior guard Devin Price, who scored 15 points, and freshman guard Isaiah Morton, who scored 11. None of the other three starters were able to break into double digit points, though. Their next leading scorer, R.J. Hall, a senior guard, came off the bench and scored 10 points. None of the five Quaker starters scored less than 10.</p>
<p>The Quakers take on the 7-4 Davidson Wildcats on the road on Thursday, December 29, and the Red Foxes host the 7-4 Columbia Lions on Wednesday, December 28.</p>

<p>Penn started the contest on a 7-0 run through the first three minutes. Marist took their first lead with an 8-0 run. The Red Foxes' biggest lead of the first half would be six points. Each time Marist threatened to extend the lead further, Penn hit a shot. The Quakers regained the lead, 36-34, on a Tyler Bernardini three-pointer with 1:18 to play. Marist responded with a two-point basket with 49 seconds left in the first half. The Quakers took a lead into halftime on two <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/124141/miles-cartwright">Miles Cartwright</a> free throws.</p>
<p>Freshman <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/145644/isaiah-morton">Isaiah Morton</a> led Marist in scoring with 11 points on 4-6 shooting (3-4 from behind the arc) in the first half. <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/27500/tyler-bernardini">Tyler Bernardini</a> and <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/53210/zach-rosen">Zach Rosen</a> led Penn. Bernardini had 12 points, 2 rebounds and a steal in the first half. Rosen had 7 points, 3 steals and a steal.</p>

<p>After a two-week break, Penn is looking for a win against Marist at The Palestra.</p> <p>After about a two-week hiatus, the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/penn-quakers">Penn Quakers</a> (5-6) return to the hardwood to host the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/teams/marist-red-foxes">Marist Red Foxes</a> (4-6) at The Palestra (7 p.m., Radio: ESPN 950).</p>
<p>Penn lost their last game against UCLA, 77-73. The Quakers hit 12 three-pointers in the contest and dished out a season-high 18 assists. <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/27500/tyler-bernardini">Tyler Bernardini</a> scored a career-high 29 points against the Bruins.</p>
<p>Marist won their last game over Hartford, 89-86, in double overtime. <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/145644/isaiah-morton">Isaiah Morton</a> led the way for the Red Foxes with a career-high 23 points on 8-8 shooting from the floor.</p>
<p>The Red Foxes took the only meeting between the two schools at home last season, 66-57. Penn is 12-12 all-time against current members of the MAAC. The Quakers defeated MAAC member Manhattan, 75-72 on Nov. 29.</p>
<p>The Quakers are led by Bob Cousy Award nominee senior guard <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-basketball/players/53210/zach-rosen">Zach Rosen</a>. Rosen ranks 18th nationally in scoring per game with 20.8 ppg and 21st in assists per game (6.0).</p>
