The Philadelphia 76ers lost their fifth game in their last seven, falling to the San Antonio Spurs 93-76 on the road. Both teams were shorthanded. The Spurs without Tim Duncan and the Sixers down Andre Iguodala due to a knee injury. Philadelphia couldn't find any offensive rhythm, shooting 41.2 percent from the field and just 1-of-9 from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Spurs led by as many as 21 points late in the fourth quarter. They went on a 12-2 run over a nearly seven-minute stretch from the end of the third quarter into the fourth. Tony Parker led the way with 21 points and seven assists for the game. Meanwhile DeJuan Blair picked up the slack for Duncan, scoring 19 while adding six rebounds.

Elton Brand scored just 12 points to lead the Sixers to go along with nine rebounds. Philadelphia got little help from its two points guards. Jrue Holiday and Louis Williams went just 5-for-14 and 4-for-14 from the field, respectively, and were a combined 0-for-4 from long range.

The 76ers will look to rebound at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night, before visiting the Washington Wizards on Friday.

Clinging to a slim Atlantic Division lead, the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to Texas to play the streaking San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (7 p.m. ET).

Clinging to a slim Atlantic Division lead, the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to Texas to play the streaking San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (7 p.m. ET). The 76ers (27-21) own a 1 1/2-game lead over the Boston Celtics and are winners of two of their last three, while the Spurs (32-14) have won three straight and are a top of the Southwest Division standings.

On Friday, behind 20 points from forward Elton Brand, the 76ers defeated the Celtics, 99-96. The victory strengthened Philly's lead in the standings, however, holding onto that slim margin will not be easy, as Philly hasn't earned a win in San Antonio since 2001.

Meanwhile, the Spurs are coming off a impressive victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. Using a 22-2 run and 12 points and 10 assists from guard Tony Parker, San Antonio blew out the defending champions 104-87.

Earlier in the season, the Spurs down the 76ers 100-90 at the Wells Fargo Center.
