<p>The annual Temple Spring Football game was played at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday morning, with Cherry winning the game by a final of 17-10.</p>
<p>Kenny Smith scored two of the game's three touchdowns. The sophomore running back will be looked upon to step up with Bernard leaving for the NFL. He finished the game with 15 carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns. </p>
<p>Junior quarterback, <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/players/84447/chris-coyer">Chris Coyer</a>, finished the game with 115 yards through the air, including a 43 yard touchdown pass to <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/players/84452/ryan-alderman">Ryan Alderman</a>. Coyer completed only six of his 15 pass attempts and was sacked once.</p>
<p>Senior running back, Matt Brown, finished the game with 40 yards on seven carries with a long of 11. At halftime Brown was awarded the Mark Bresani Award for spirit and enthusiasm.</p>
<p>The game was played in front of approximately 2,500 fans. </p>

<p>Temple football's annual Cherry & White Game kicks off Saturday morning at 11 a.m. One player to watch: Nate Smith, younger brother of former Philadelphia Eagles tight end L.J. Smith.</p> <p>The Cherry & White Game, Temple football's annual spring game, kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.</p>
<p>Tickets for the free event will be available at the Lincoln Financial Field Box Office on game day beginning at 9 a.m. Despite admission being free, tickets are needed for entrance to the stadium.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/temple/20120412_L_J__Smith_s_younger_brother__Nate__turning_heads_at_Temple.html">Nate Smith is one player for Temple fans to keep an eye on</a> during the scrimmage. The redshirt freshman middle linebacker has impressed during the spring season, and coaches believe he has a chance to claim the starting job.</p>

<p>"He's a very instinctive player," Owls coach Steve Addazio said of the redshirt freshman middle linebacker. "He's still learning but, boy, he plays fast, and he makes plays.</p>
<p>"So I like what I've seen out of him right now. He's just got to keep growing as a player and make sure he's accountable."</p>

<p>Smith is the younger brother of L.J. Smith, the former Rutgers tight end who played six seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles.</p>
