The Philadelphia Phillies look to even their four-game set with the Chicago Cubs when the two teams conclude their series on Monday. (Game Time: 7:05 p.m. ET, TV Schedule: CSN Philly)

Vance Worley (2-1, 2.16 ERA) looks to bring the Phillies back into the winner's circle after they lost 5-1 to Chicago on Sunday. The Phillies scored just two runs combined in their two losses this weekend, and mustered only two hits against the Cubs Sunday. Their only run Sunday came via a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning.

Philadelphia will look to get its struggling offense on track against Cubs starter Chris Volstad, who is 0-3 with a 6.14 ERA this season.

Should they take the series, the Phillies will guarantee at least a split in the series before Monday's finale.

Kyle Kendrick (0-1, 9.39 RA) continues to fill in for the injured Cliff Lee, making his second start as a member of the rotation. He'll hope this time goes better than his first one, when he allowed seven runs in three-plus innings to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Before that, Kendrick has allowed two runs (one earned) in 4.2 innings as a reliever.

Matt Garza (1-1, 3..38 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Cubs in just his second road start of the season. The Miami Marlins torched him for six runs over five innings in what turned into a 9-1 loss. He rebounded with a seven solid innings of two-run ball in his last outing, but he wound up taking the no-decision in the Cubs' 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Philadelphia Phillies dropped the series opener to the Chicago Cubs, losing 5-1 in Friday night's game.

The Philadelphia Phillies opened their series against the Chicago Cubs with a 5-1 loss Friday night. Philadelphia built a lead throughout the night and aside from one run in the seventh inning, the Phillies were unable to respond.

Roy Halladay was on the mound for Philadelphia, and he put the Cubs down 1-2-3 for the first three innings. Chicago was able to break things open in the fourth, after Tony Campana reached on a bunt single, stole second, and Starlin Castro brought him home with a single. That was it for the fourth, but Chicago struck again in the top of the sixth, as Tony Campana reached on an infield hit and advanced on a Bryan LaHair single. Alfonso Soriano added another single, scoring Campana, and LaHair scored on an Ian Stewart double, making it 3-0 Cubs. Halladay then put a stop to things, getting Darwin Barney to ground into an inning-ending double play that saw Soriano thrown out at the plate.

The Phillies' lone run came on a Ty Wigginton solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the top of the eigth saw Halladay relieved by Antonio Bastardo. Bastardo pitched the eigth and gave up one hit but no runs. Michael Schwimer would take the mound for Philadelphia in the ninth, and the Cubs would add a few more runs to their total. Geovany Soto got aboard on a walk and then scored on a triple from Reed Johnson, and Johnson was knocked in by a David DeJesus single. The bottom of the ninth saw Shane Victorino, Ty Wigginton and Carlos Ruiz come to the plate for the Phillies, but none were able to reach base, leaving the final score 5-1 Cubs.

Game two of the series is at 7:05pm, and the expected pitching matchup is Joe Blanton for the Phillies taking on Randy Wells for the Cubs.
