The Philadelphia Phillies will try for a series sweep over the visiting Washington Nationals on Sunday when veteran Cliff Lee (2-7) opposes Jordan Zimmermann (9-7) at Citizens Bank Park. Starting at 1:35 p.m. ET on PHL 17, the Phillies will also try to extend their winning streak to four and help Lee earn his third victory of the season.

Despite owning the major league's best strike-to-walk ratio and compiling an ERA of 3.78, the Phillies have won just seven of Lee's 22 starts. If Lee were to earn the win Sunday, it would be his first victory at home.

Meanwhile, Zimmermann enters with a 2.54 ERA, the second-lowest mark in the National League.

The Phillies won their second straight game against the NL East-leading Nationals on Saturday night, thanks to another solid start by Roy Halladay. He allowed two runs and seven hits, struck out six and walked just one on the way to victory. The two-time Cy Young winner is 4-1 with a 2.75 ERA after missing 42 games for the Phillies this season.

Halladay pretty much owns the Nationals, improving to 12-2 in his 17 career starts against the franchise.

Philly jumped out to an early lead on Saturday when Chase Utley and John Mayberry both hit RBI singles. Mayberry added another run for the Phillies with a solo home run in the sixth inning, then another in the eighth when hit sacrificed to right field to score Utley.

Steve Lombardozzi plated the Nationals' only run with an RBI single in the fifth inning.

The Phillies, who have won five of their last seven games, will look to take their second in a row against the Washington Nationals. The Nationals currently lead the Atlanta Braves by 6.5 games in the NL East and will try to end a two-game losing skid.

Phillies starting pitcher Roy Halladay is having his worst season in years. Known for his reliability, Halladay will finish the season with fewer than 30 starts for the first time since 2005. Consistency has been a problem this year for the two-time Cy Young Award winner, though he has managed to win three of his last four starts.

The Nationals will send Gio Gonzalez to the bump in search of his league-leading 17th win. Gonzalez has been stellar in his first season as a National, going 16-6 with a 3.23 ERA.

Saturday's game will start at 7:05 ET and can be viewed on CSN.

The Phillies opened their series against the Nats with a 4-2 win on Friday night.

The Philadelphia Phillies opened their weekend series against the Nationals on Friday night with a 4-2 win at Citizens Bank Park. The Phils were led by starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick, who held the team with the best record in baseball to just two runs over 6.2 innings of work. Kendrick allowed just four hits to hold a three-run cushion and hand it off to the bullpen over the final 2.1 innings.

The Phillies offense got to Edwin Jackson in the top of the first to get on the board early. Jimmy Rollins led off the game with a single and advanced to second on a Kevin Frandsen walk. Rollins was knocked in one batter later on a Chase Utley single that made it 1-0. Jackson would settle in a bit and strike out eight Phillies but he could not match the work of Kendrick.

Rollins would again be involved in the second rally of the game in the fourth inning. Laynce Nix and John Mayberry started the inning by getting on base and after a Kendrick sacrifice, Rollins would drive in two with a single to left. The 3-0 cushion would prove to be enough for the Phillies pitching staff.

Philadelphia will now try to take the series on Saturday with Roy Halladay on the mound. He'll be opposed by Gio Gonzalez.
