After beating the Colorado Rockies 3-2 in the first game of their pair today, the Phillies would sweep the doubleheader with a 7-4 victory in the nightcap. Tyler Cloyd started tonight's game, but he'd make it through only four innings before turning things over to the bullpen. The bullpen was excellent though, allowing only one hit in the final five frames.

The Phillies would get the scoring underway in the bottom of the second, as Michael Martinez singled home Ty Wigginton to put the Phillies up by one. Colorado would jump out to a lead in the top of the next inning though, scoring four in the top of the third.

Philly would start to climb back into this one in the fifth, as Ryan Howard singled home a pair to close the Phils to within one. They'd take the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a Ty Wigginton homerun and a Kevin Frandsen RBI single. RBI singles by Carlos Ruiz and Michael Martinez in the bottom of the seventh would put the Phillies up 7-4, and that would end the scoring Jonathan Papelbon would come in to close the game out in the ninth.

The Phillies will host the Marlins tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. ET, with Wade LeBlanc scheduled to go for Miami and Kyle Kendrick slated to start for the Phillies.

The Phillies won the first game of a double header against the Colorado Rockies 3-2 on a game winning single by Cameron Mayberry Jr. in the bottom of the ninth.

Cole Hamels pitched seven strong innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out six. He didn't get a decision though as the Phillies offense struggled to put up runs against the Rockies.

Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth for the victory.

The Phillies tied the game 2-2 in the third inning off a Ryan Howard double to center field, but they would have to wait for some last inning heroics before they could prepare for the second game today.

The Phillies have now won three straight as they try to mount a playoff run. The NL East crown is virtually out of reach, but the Phillies sit six games out of the wild card race with the victory.

The second game of the double header begins at 3:35 ET.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies didn't get a chance to play on Saturday night.

After sitting through a 2 hour 49 minute rain delay at Citizens Bank Park, the game was finally called and rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader for Sunday. The first game is slated to begin at 1:05 p.m. ET, with the nightcap to get underway at 6:35 p.m. ET.

With the Phillies at 67-71, Charlie Manuel's club is just trying to finish in 3rd place in the National League East and maybe reach .500. The team has been crushed by injuries to stars like Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Roy Halladay, leaving Philly to scratch for wins.

Considering the Rockies have had a very tough season themselves, the Phillies will have a chance to claw two games closer to the .500 mark. After Colorado leaves town, the Miami Marlins will come in for three before a road trip ensues, starting with a four-game series against the hapless Houston Astros.

The Philadelphia Phillies will continue their march towards a .500 record as they host the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.

The Phillies will send Cole Hamels to the mound. He has not lost a game since Aug. 2 and will be looking for a seventh straight quality start and his 15th win. Hamels currently sports a 3.04 ERA, ninth-best in the National League.

Colorado will counter with Tyler Chatwood, who is in his first season with the Rockies. Chatwood has struggled through seven starts and seven relief appearances, posting a 5.53 ERA and a 4-4 record.

The Phillies' five-year streak of winning the NL East will expire this year, as many of the team's high-profile players have struggled with injuries. However, they are now just four games under .500, the closest they've been to the break-even mark since June 26.

Saturday's game will start at 7:05 ET, and can be found on CSN.

Philadelphia wins on late-game heroics.

The Phillies got off to a good start in their weekend set against the Colorado Rockies, winning 3-2 on Friday night due to some late-inning heroics.

With the score tied 2-2, and Philadelphia batting in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jimmy Rollins started things off with a walk and things unraveled for Colorado from there. After Juan Pierre sacrificed Rollins over to second, the Rockies intentionally walked star Chase Utley. Nate Schierholtz then came in to pinch hit to set the stage. During the at-bat, Utley and Rollins advanced to second and third base on a wild pitch. Schierholtz then promptly dropped a single into right field and Rollins scored to win the game.

Reliever Jonathan Papelbon, who pitched the ninth inning, picked up the win for Philadelphia - it was his fourth on the season. Phillies starter Cliff Lee was solid, pitching 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven, and giving up two runs.
