Other than a Mardy Gilyard hamstring injury, the Eagles escaped Sunday without any health issues.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 30-17, on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, dropping their record to a very disappointing 3-4 on the year.

However, there was some good news coming out of the loss. Outside of Mardy Gilyard suffering a hamstring injury, the rest of the team remained healthy going into Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

Gilyard's ailment will be further evaluated on Monday, but for now, he's being called questionable for next weekend's game.

Guard Danny Watkins had to miss the contest versus Atlanta because of a bad ankle, but he may return in time to play against the high-powered Saints.

Watkins is a big loss for a team that's already without two of their starters on the offensive line in center Jason Kelce and left tackle Jason Peters.

Peters was ruled out for the year in the preseason while Kelce partially tore his ACL against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.

With his team struggling, Andy Reid might be ready to bench QB Michael Vick.

The Philadelphia Eagles might be ready to give up on Michael Vick as their starting quarterback.

According to Bleeding Green Nation, Howard Eskin of 94WIP/FOX29 is reporting that the Eagles are 'likely' to make a switch under center.

Much speculation has been made in the past few weeks with the Eagles struggling that rookie Nick Foles might get an opportunity to start if the team didn't right the ship.

Coming off the bye week, Philadelphia was soundly defeated at home against the Atlanta Falcons, dropping its record to 3-4 and perhaps fueling a change by Andy Reid. The loss is the first in Reid's tenure following a bye week.

After the game, it was reported Reid met with his assistant coaches to talk about making some adjustments to the depth chart, particularly behind center.

Vick didn't make any major mistakes on Sunday, but Eskin tweeted out that Vick made two costly errors at the line with audibles. Eskin went on to state these mistakes are the same ones Vick has been making for weeks on end.

The Philadelphia Eagles are in trouble and Michael Vick could be the next to lose his job.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick acknowledged that his head coach, Andy Reid, might be ready to make a change under center. The veteran quarterback sounded resigned to his fate after the game when he told Rueben Frank of CSN Philadelphia that he would do all he could until Reid gave him the hook.

"It's tough when you know everything is up in the balance, but that's the decision that coach is thinking about making, and I'm going to fight until he says, 'Come on out,' and he takes me out of the game. Despite everything that's been said the last couple weeks, I still continue to put in the hard work and the effort and try to do everything I can to prepare and win football games, man. I can't do it by myself. I would love to stay in there and finish what I started. It would mean the world to me. But, hey, that's not my decision right now."

Vick has had his struggles this season, with eight interceptions and nine fumbles, but he did not turn the ball over in a 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Philadelphia is 3-4 with the loss and growing increasingly desperate. Reid fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo earlier this month. The defense was mostly powerless against Matt Ryan and the Falcons under new coordinator Todd Bowles this week.

Matt Ryan threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Atlanta Falcons to a convincing 30-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Atlanta stayed perfect, improving to 7-0 this season. The Eagles dropped to 3-4.

Ryan threw two first-quarter touchdown passes to put the Falcons up 14-0 going into the second quarter. He added another -- a 63-yard touchdown to Julio Jones -- midway through the second quarter.

Ryan's day checked in a bit better than Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick's. Vick was 21-for-35 for 177 yards. He threw his only touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He found LeSean McCoy for a 7-yard gain to cut Atlanta's lead to 30-17.

McCoy also had a rushing touchdown. He finished the day with 16 carries for 45 yards and a second-quarter touchdown run.

Atlanta was in charge from the beginning. The Falcons led at halftime, 24-7.

Fantasy studs and duds

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan made his fantasy owners happy with three touchdown passes and 262 yards. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was also big, hauling in five passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had 45 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. Falcons running back Michael Turner didn't have a great day, rushing for 58 yards on 23 attempts with no touchdowns.

Injury report

Eagles defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins left the game in the first half, but later returned to the game. Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin and wide receiver Mardy Gilyard also left the game with injuries.

Did they cover?

The Eagles entered as 1 1/2-point favorites, so they did not cover the spread.
