Temple Owls Host Army Black Knights Today At The Linc

The Temple Owls host the Army Black Knights Saturday at 1 p.m.

Army has not won a road game yet this season. Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field, the Temple Owls would like to keep that winless skid intact. Temple hosts Army at 1 p.m. (ESPN3)

Temple beat Miami of Ohio last weekend to end a two-game losing streak. The Owls are currently in second place in the Mid American Conference's East Division and have one more conference game remaining, next week against Kent State.

Temple could be without star running back Bernard Pierce, who has already rushed for 1,035 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. Pierce missed last weekend's bout against Miami of Ohio with a leg injury and is considered questionable for Saturday.

Army has injury issues of its own. Running backs Raymond Maples and Trent Steelman missed last week's loss to Rutgers. Maples is expected to return against Temple, but Steelman's status is questionable. The Black Knights lead the nation in rushing with 352 yards per game, but have thrown for fewer yards per game (50) than any other team in the nation. The Black Knights finished a successful 7-6 campaign last season, but have struggled to a 3-7 record so far.

Temple and Army will play for the fifth straight season. Temple has won the last three meetings to even the series record at 4-4.
