The Temple Owls secured third place in the 2011 Puerto Rico tip-off with a 78-74 overtime win over Wichita State Sunday night. The Owls were led by senior Ramone Moore who led the team with 23 points, but got balanced scoring overall as Khalf Wyatt, Juan Fernandez & Ramone Moore all reached double digits. Michael Eric also pulled down 12 boards.
Toure Murry finished off a nice tournament for Wichita State with 24 points to lead all scorers. The win improves Temple’s record to 3-1 on the season. The Owls now get a week off before facing the Bowling Green Falcons next Sunday.
Purdue is facing #14 Alabama tonight in the title game of the Puerto Rico Tip-off tournament.
