Temple Vs Texas: Owls Visit Frank Erwin Center

Temple basketball faces its second consecutive big-name opponent on Saturday afternoon, when the Owls visit the Texas Longhorns (2:30 p.m., ESPN2).

The Owls beat Big 5 rival Villanova last Saturday, 78-67, behind 32 points from senior guard Ramone Moore. It was Temple's third consecutive win, a feat made more impressive because Fran Dunphy's team has been playing without injured starters Scootie Randall and Micheal Eric. Moore leads Temple with 18.4 points per game, Khalif Wyatt adds 14.9 points per game and Juan Fernandez averages 12.5.

Texas has won six straight games after beginning the season 2-2, but none of the wins have been particularly impressive. The Longhorns are led by J'Covan Brown, a junior guard averaging 18.9 points per game, and freshman point guard Myck Kabongo, who leads the team with 6.3 assists per contest while contributing 10.1 points. Sheldon McClellan adds 12.0 points per game off the bench.
